Michibacy, keep pluggin' away. Bit's and pieces of every thing you do get recycled, even mistakes. Recognizing something for what it can do is just as important as what it can't do. It's a trash or treasure thing.

Thanks Leverhead, I appreciate it. Didn't get around to doing the test this weekend, maybe sometime soon. Classes start Thursday and venue shopping starts saturday so maybe I can slip it in sometime. I pumped plain old hose water through the nozzle and it agitated it enough to create a "bubbly water" as it were. I imagine the soapy fertilizer water will then suds up as well, we'll see!

just a thought for your soap. think of the difference in lather with dish soap, compared to shampoo. maybe baby or hypoallegenic(i dunno something that is for people that cant handle perfumes or other additives) as im not sure what effects those additives may have (if any) on plants.

also i wonder if it would be benneficial to find something that will make the foam set (solid foam) so it dissolves bit by bit as it gets moist. (i wonder if white glue is poison?)

I may consider the glue, but for right now I'm concerned about adding as little as chemical as possible

Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS - the main ingredient in soaps and shaving cream) has been in use for over a century. A little goes along way so effects to plants may be minimal. I don't know much more than that, but it may prove to be an effective foaming agent. The only way to be certain would be to test it on tobacco plants.

SLS is also dirt cheap as far as chemicals are concerned. There are also various grades (purity) of SLS.

Just an idea...

Sorry it's taking so long to get results back guys, been extremely busy with work and class. I do believe this weekend I'll be able to test the concept. I just completed the finishing touches on the sprayer so I'll toss some stuff in there and try it out.

Stage 1: Test the emitter head
Stage 2: Test the foaming
Stage 3 (if 1 and 2 succeed): Test the two different options (dry and the foaming) on two of the Havana 142 plants and see if either turns out better.
