Hey all!,

Thanks for letting me join the Forum.
I’ll introduce myself since that seems to be the custom here.
I’ve starting smoking cigars and pipe tobacco in my 20s and was always fascinated by the tobacco leaves and different kinds of them.
I never thought that I’d grow my own since I lived in Germany at that time.
But since I moved to Missouri and left the parents house, which wouldn’t have enjoyed having tobacco plants in their yard I thought I’d give it a go.
I have tried two years ago and utterly failed to grow them beyond seedlings.
This year they look a lot better and we will see how it goes.

Looking forward to learning from you all!

Welcome to the forum! There is a ton of very helpful information in the FAQ and “Key forum threads” that should help you succeed next year.
Don’t be discouraged - it’s a learning process to what works for you and your local environment. Just enjoy the journey and ask questions as you go.

Welcome to the forum. You should order seed for 2023 now, and start germination at the end of February, for transplant to the garden after last frost date.

Northwood Seeds is operated by forum member, @skychaser, and has an extensive selection.

What particular use do you plan for your tobacco?

Bob
Thanks, pipe and cigar tobacco
