The Maya added Mexican marigold as a flavorant to tobacco.

Mexican marigold is classed as a culinary herb, and is non-toxic to humans.

Thanks for the information !
We grow some marigold (tagetes patula - "oeillet d'Inde in French") each year, mainly for the beautiful flowers and the fact that they are good companion plants for the vegetables. Now I know that I can eat it and smoke it.
I will try this in a few month ;)

I would maybe acquire Tagetes lucida, and not assume Tagetes patula can be smoked.

Good point, but I'm not scared of anything :ROFLMAO:
And since the tagetes patula can be eaten, I don't think there is a lot of risk (I can be wrong)
By the way, I am not planning on smoking lots of it. But I am curious about the taste it can give ;)

On contrary, this hypothesis is as good as many others I have heard.
Do you have any proof that would invalidate it ?
