Loaded the family into the van last Thursday and made the track from Maryland to the Badlands, South Dakota. Will hit Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse Mountain in a few days. I have someone house sitting for me. Unfortunately he doesn't do tobacco so hopefully the aphids will behave themselves while I'm gone.

Awesome. Wife and I rode out there 2 years ago for the 74th Sturgis Rally. Went just about everywhere except the Badlands. Next trip we definitely will. Mt Rushmore is cool , make sure you park on the turnoff and get some pictures. Crazy Horse is probably one of my favorite stops we made, just because I'm into that stuff. Again, pics are a necessity. They're all in the same area ,you could do both in one day. Also don't forget to drive through Custer Nat'l Park , hopefully the buffalo and the donkeys will cooperate but don't get too close. Not sure how it will be in a car but Needles Highway and Spearfish Canyon were great on the bike. My wifes dads ashes we put in Spearfish river, theres a trail from the lodge to the river along a little woodsy trail. Very spiritual area. If you have time- take the family out to Devils Tower in Wyoming. its a couple hours west but well worth it. Wife and I ran into the Kenny Wayne Shepherd band out hiking there that day. Got a picture with them . Very cool. Have fun , drive safe.
