That's a lot of beautiful cigars. I think I rolled 10 cigars at one time a few years ago.

If you have any Habana 2000 wrapper, use it as part of the filler blend. It's derived from Corojo, and adds a wonderful flavor, especially blended with Nic Habano and Piloto Cubano. (Don't mention this to anybody, or they'll cringe.)

That sounds like solid advice. I don't think we should limit our selves to a given grading as for as positioning or usage. ya gotta get in there.

As I understand the story, original Corojo (named after the Corojo Plantation, in the Vuelta Abajo) began having problems with blue mold during the late 1950. After worsening blue mold issues, lengthy crossing experiments (with I don't know what resistant varieties) were undertaken in Cuba to impart resistance. The derivatives of all this experimentation were Criollo, Criollo 98, Criollo 99, Corojo 99 and Habano 2000. (I think they were chasing some additional disease susceptibilities along the way.)

I believe that Honduran Corojo is primarily the original Corojo.

This may all be myth. I just don't know for sure.

The Cuban Criollo and Coroja [sic] that I grew last year were clearly distinct from one another in growth habitus. That Coroja [misspelling compliments of GRIN] is possibly the original Corojo. The Corojo 99 from Robaina was clearly distinguishable from the Coroja.

Using Habana 2000 for filler triggers a few pangs of guilt, since the leaf is generally flawless, beautifully consistent in color, and just about the stretchiest wrapper I've ever used. (It's like a latex glove.) I'm not as fond, though, of the taste of Habana 2000 as a wrapper.

Nice cigar. But I think humans view a burning cigar differently than baby tobacco plants may view it.
