Never heard of Havana Gold. It's not a recognized industry name nor is it among the 1800+ varieties in the Grin data base. Unfortunately, without a known specimen to compare it to, it will be impossible to answer your question. The only other way to know is to find out what the real name of the variety is and the vendor you got them from likely doesn't know or won't tell you.

I'll add my observation that some differing varieties look identical until they are fully mature. Then only subtle differences distinguish them. Despite visual similarities, they often taste quite different and cure differently.

Ah yes, the old picture steeler. We've had a run-in with him in the past. He likes steeling pictures off the internet and using them to represent his products. At least two of the pictures he's using are not his.

This being known, the only advice I can offer is...let one plant go to seed and bag it, harvest your leaf at varying stages then color cure them. Put some in a kiln and smoke some straight air cured. If you like it, grow it again next year.

Were the seeds pelleted? If they were, it's not a rare anything, but most likely a commercial tobacco. If the one picture is authentic and one of the plants you are growing, my guess it is a Dark Air variety. If the guy really is in Tennessee, it makes it even more likely it's a Dark Air cured or maybe even a little more like to be a Burley.

Take some pictures and let us see what you got.

Re: Plants look identical

Some pics,
the flower heads I have suckerd the small buds on some.
The pics do made them look different. I cannot tell them apart when I am looking at them in the patch. Go figure.
