Hey just wanted to see what everyone else uses to keep their bacci in for R.Y.O tobacco .I personally just use plastic zip lock bags or old empty ryo packets, but they end up falling apart ova time...or keep using new plastic ziplock bags.any ideas on what works better from anyone(not tube full. smokers or annoying shaped tins)who has come up with something better ???

I store my tobacco in old pipe tins, If you want some I have a few to spare lol Though unless the paper iis inside them it tends to dry out quickly but in a pipe its not a big problem...
Just read the rest of your post. doh. The new erinmore flake tin is a good size and not too bulky

I started saving coffee cans last year when I decided I would try to grow my own. Have also been saving the heavy ziplok bags my ryo tobacco comes in.

I'm usin a bulky old Samson tin at the mo till i can source a peice of rawhide. Me Lady goes with a felted wool pouch with a plastic liner. Hopin this winter to line one with calves skin instead of the plastic for her. I aint keen on tins either. Trin to roll with tin in hand is a pia.

For the MYO blend i use with tubes, I just shred and blend about a pound at a time and keep it in a gallon zip lock until I'm ready to stuff some tubes. If you're talking about a way to carry around your RYO tobacco and a pack of papers, I think the single pipe pouches would work really well. They have a plastic lined compartment for your tobacco, depending on the pouch they hold from 2 - 4 oz. of tobacco. You could keep your papers and a lighter in the separate compartment made for the pipe. They are fairly compact and available on e-bay and Amazon at good prices.

I'm new to the whole leaf scene but all the RYO tobacco I have purchased in the last year has been stored in canning jars. After quite a lot of research this appears to be the most time tested/honored method, especially preferred by pipe smokers when cellering bulk tobaccos.

Sturdy ziplocks are also quite effective for tobacco storage up to a year, probably more if kept in a cool dry place but for goodness sake NOT the fridge.

I have no personal experience with small hand rolling pouches.

When I hand rolled I carried a "Bull Durham" bag in my shirt pocket all the time. I'd stick the Zig Zag papers inside, lighter in my pocket. It's been a lot of years but I may still have a couple around. If the thought appeals they should be really easy to sew from any cloth that pleased you.

Thanks guys for all your input.I'll have a look at the pipe pouches they sound like they might work .otherwise I might make something out of some soft leather lined with some permanent type of plastic.that will last a long time.cheers anyway

You might try looking in the baking section at the grocery store. Reynolds Wrap is making a "non-stick pan lining paper", it's parchment paper layered with aluminum foil. I've been using it my cigarette packs. It does help keep the moisture right without leaving a funny smell/taste like foiled gift wrap.

If you've purchased any whole leaf from WLT, then you own at least one vapor-proof nylon-poly bag. If you cut off the bottom 8" of the bag, then you have a vapor-proof pouch that seals fairly well when simply rolled onto itself. It could also be modified to serve as a vapor-proof liner for a pouch made of other material.

Cheers bob some liner in a bacci pouch sounds like it would work.I will b smoking R.Y.O. until I find a decent tube fuller that's not just a single cig maker.and source some cheap tubes

Thanks guys..much appreciated ,I hate fat tins in my pocket, and they're not very easy to roll out of standing
