As the title says my names Scott and I live on the South Shore of Nova Scotia.
I've been growing cigarette tobacco for about 7 years now, and have gained a lot of knowledge and experience . But it seems like the more I learn, the more I need to learn. So if I start asking never planted before newbe questions, please bear with me! ;)

That's true of everything. Two hundred plants is a substantial home-grow. You rank among our experienced growers. Ask away!

For 2019, consider starting a grow log on the forum, and posting lots of photos--we love photos.

Welcome on FTT,
I understand your feeling, I am only growing for the third year, and there are so many things to learn (and that's a big part of the pleasure)

Welcome, fellow maritimer!

Last year was my final crop after 12 years or so. I do miss my pipes! But I still lurk here on the site, to see what's happening.

Saved a lot of different seeds over the years - most from named varieties and including a prolific mild variety selected here from unknown parentage that Don named NB11 (selected in NB and named in 2011) . . .

So if you'd like some seeds to play with next year, they're here!

Hi Scott
I used to grow CT Shade as my job, and I live in Connecticut. I am retired, and now I also grow about 200 plants a year, mostly for cigarette tobacco. I bet we can help each other out. Welcome!

Haven't a clue!

It appeared along with 19 or so other very different tobacco plants when I got a batch of 5 varieties from a chap over 10 years ago. Lusty, mild, heavy yielder, it's close to Monte Calme Brun in growth habit, but larger. Very strong stems in a wind.

15 to 20 large white ribbed leaves per plant. Definitely NOT perique; and unlike any of the ornamentals i've tried.

NB11 is a burley, right?
