Single-Ingredient Chew

I'm wondering if anyone here makes their chew with just one sweetening agent (molasses or honey for example). On my next batch I was thinking of just using molasses with salt and baking soda. Has anyone done anything similar to this? From what I gather this is how chew was made in the olden times.

I use Xylitol and Sucralose for my sweeteners. I don't use things like molasses or honey because I don't want my teeth to rot away. I also use LorAnn concentrated flavorings like Maple, Apple or Wintergreen.

I've tried caramel extract and Splenda. Good flavor, seems to go with tobacco.
