Just Jasmine tobacco this year as a fragrant ornamental in my vegetable garden. Still I expect to learn from growing it. The seeds arrived in the mail today.
I use very little tobacco, and still have most of the Canik from last year.

I grew Jasmine in my tobacco patch last season and the Bugs loved it. This year I planted it and Only The Lonley by the house. The Bugs have attacked the Jasmine and left Only The Lonley alone. Maybe I should have planted some Jasmine in my tobacco patch. See my blog for pictures. (Might still do that ).

All of my ornamental tobaccos have gotten a soaking in neonictinoids to give them more resistance to the bugs, I want to keep them for as long as possible in the front flower garden and not have to remove them if they get full of unsightly holes. If that doesn't work, I have three year supply of Spinosad I will also apply.

Bottom picture, plants look to be a little bit too deep in the pots. I'd suggest that you get a bit more soil in. The leaves that are touching the edges of the pot will probably die off. The top picture, these plants look good just need a little drink. Otherwise they are looking good. Oldfella

Three of the six Jasmine plants. I have the six plants spread around the garden for the scent of the flowers and to draw aphids away from other plants.

In order from best looking to not so good looking - different growing conditions in different parts of the garden. All but the last have a hay mulch; there are leek plants too small to mulch yet growing near the last one. Hay mulch as in Ruth Stout's book, The No Work Garden.

There are alot of side stalks, suckers, on this plant which started almost at the same time as the main stalk. I don't mind since I'm growing it for the flowers. Last year the Canik did not start growing suckers until the main stalk had grown 2-2.5 feet high.
Cool wheat field. Are you growing your own grain or making your own straw or both? I see the mulch.

I planted the wheat from some I had in my freezer, which I was using to make bread. This in my garden I will plant as a cover crop / green manure, this fall. The mulch is hay I got off Craigslist for a 67 cents a bale; there is also some grass clippings.
