Have a nice day everyone.
I wanted to ask if anyone has any idea how to get a tar taste? In Sweden you can buy snus flavors (the taste of tar and/or smoke). Unfortunately all shops only ship to Sweden or Norway. I wanted to ask if anyone has any idea?

How do I get the tar taste in the snus? And what liquid smoke can you recommend? My snus should not taste like smoked fish or sausage! What kind of wood and smoke is best? I just don't have a solution for the tar! There is pine tar (but can you use that for snus?)

Something else I thought about: There are pastilles in Sweden that only contain liquorice and tar. You could definitely make them small and use them for chew! But I don't know if that would work for dips and snus! Unfortunately, I'm not a big liquorice fan! But I do love the smoky, tar flavor! Like some dips and snus have! Really old school! Without modern flavors!

I have these tobaccos at home Kentucky very smoked ,burley honey stringed . Do you think I can use these varieties for snuff and dip? How many percent would you use for mixing? Or how many grams per 1kg? I haven't tried the dark varieties yet!

@whotan I've made smoky snus before using 40g of my bland, air cured and low nicotine leaf (it was my first year growing) and 10g latakia pipe tobacco,

The result was actually way too smoky! A bit like what I imagine licking the inside of a chimney would be like, so I'd actually use a mere 2-3g for a 50g batch of snus

I mix %5 Dark Fired. I made a bunch of Puro batches of different varieties, and blend them together.
YMMV if you mix the tobacco flours then cook together.
I could go up to at least %10, but I'm trying to keep low on the TSNA laden leafs.

I'm also experimenting with a smoke flavoring. I cut up some Dark Fired, and let it sit in some PG. After a couple weeks, it's still not as potent as I would like, but I'll give it more time.
