On the news today the US is implementing them with no under the limit of sales. Anything ordered is subject to it no matter the amount. It used to be under 800 dollars. Came into effect today source Global National News. They were saying how it will affect small business on both sides of the border. ****

Just doing a quick online search Canada ownes roughly 15.4 - 15.8 million acres of land in the US. Multiple companies with oil and mining rights are based in Canada that make a living off US land and/or profit from trade from US held territories. The same goes with Canadian owned agriculture and timber companies. This is not reciprocal with US land and business holdings in Canada. The US has been very generous with Canada over the years. I'm not a fan of tariffs but Canada has been hugely benefitting by one sided trade practices with the US for many years. As an independent and free country I can see why the US might look at this and take pause to see why they feel like they might be getting screwed a bit on this deal, hence the tariffs.

You are not making sense here. Ie US companies are getting oil in Canada in which the US is laying claim to being American Oil. It isn't it's ours. If Danielle Smith says we are cutting you off and how that will affect the US. Or if Doug Ford or Quebec cuts off electricity to you. Ie OIl it is shipped over and we buy back finished product. There's a whole bunch of these things going on from oil to aluminum cans. We can dent the US economy. Even the farmland that is what is owned and keeps Americans working. A lot of it is due to American companies and Canada's strict no GMO products. Ritz crackers the ingredients in Canada are different than the US. Again it's all based on cross border agreements.

I think most people in general want the same things. We want a chance to make an income and live a peaceful, happy life. We are "little people" though. What we control is limited by the governments we live under. At most we can petition our elected officials for change and hope for the best. I don't think most Americans and Canadians hate each other and both countries have been strong allys through multiple wars together. We are more similar than different on many of our fundamental beliefs and I think eventually our governments will work things out between each other. In the meantime it's often us 'little people" that suffer the most through these disputes. My advice is to contact your elected officials and let them know what you want, eventually when they need your vote they may hear what people are saying.

My big complaint with Canada is the fact they sent us Justin Bieber. Perhaps we can start a petition. Canada takes Justin Bieber back and Trump can lower the Tariffs. On second thought that may not be fair, America would still be coming out ahead.

Seems like a very appropriate time to watch "Canadian Bacon". One of the most underrated and last films starring John Candy. Hilarious.

Best movie ever - Strange Brew. It had action, romance, plot twits, saving the world, and most importantly beer. If only they could have worked something in about le Oil I'd be happier;)
