Very rarely these days do we purchase from a company that stands behind their product when they dont have to. I'd like to start a thread for new people so they know who to buy from. This is a email i sent to New Hope Seeds and how well i was treated.

I purchased two types of tobacco seeds not to long ago 1) one sucker 2) samsun 98% of the one sucker germinated in the same flat not one of the samsun germinated . could i get replacment seeds ? and instead of samsun maybe gold dollar ? If not i understand, it will not deture me from purchasing from you in the future, i think you strive to deliver a good product.

Hello Mr. Windham,

I am sorry to hear you experienced a problem with the Samsun seed, I use seed from the same lot for our seed production plants and I had good germination of 92% but sometimes things can occur to hinder germination.

I will send you a packet of Gold Dollar today.

(This is my opinion not new hope's...I dont think you could ask for more from a person.)

I've dealt with New Hope seed for several years, encompassing over 20 varieties, and my experience with them has been excellent. The germination rates have been among the highest of all my seed sources.

I believe they are a longstanding tobacco farm that is attempting to stay afloat by raising heirloom vegetable and tobacco seeds, as well as transplants of tobacco and sweet potatoes. Good folks.

workhorse,

do you think them not coming up,,, may have been your fault,?

i mean baccy seeds are very easy to mess up when starting,, too course of soil will bury it in a '' nook-and-cranny'' e,t,c,

i use vermiculite to rest my seeds on, so they wont do ^^^^^ that<

and i mist them daily,,,

It could have been me but I used the same worm bins for my one sucker and I now have over two hundred plants. they were side by side , sowed the same day and got the same treatment, but not one of the others came up.

John says try eating some.lol

Better yet just roll some up. Heres my reward for this mornings efforts and honeydo's. Better yet we could let my little buddy here do a taste test.

I deal with NewHope myself, and they always seemed above board. This year I'm trying their Sweet Potato plants and see how they do.

I've been getting sweet potatoes from them for a few years and although they are not grown by New Hope, they are very nice plants! They are quite a bit more expensive than what I can get local but the problem with local is everyone says they don't know when they will be getting a shipment in and to check back in a week. When I would check back in a week, they were always sold out!. So much easier to order in February and have them show up at your door in May.

Just an update, The YTB and Gold Dollar seeds seem to have all germinated in the same box that the samsun did'nt. The samsun seeds must have been crushed in the mail, because the replacment seeds that were foam packed are doing great . My thanks to FM and David P. fron New Hope Seed The right kind of people to deal with !
