I've been off this forum for a few years - I found a cheap source of German tobacco, which until the past few months was reliable. I then started to look at some of my previously grown tobacco. I used my shredding machine, which worked OK, but then I realised that some of the stored tobacco was dry, so I simply crushed it by hand. It worked great in the machine with tobacco tubes. Makes we wonder why I went to so much trouble to shred, years ago. Anyone else have any views?

Some if us have made flake makers by adding 1/4" screens to your method. I'm sold on it. No maintenance.

Crushed tobacco is useful if you fill tubes with a machine. Since I roll my cigs by hand, I must go through the hassle of re hydrating, de-stemming and shredding. I tried to roll (by hand) crushed baccy, and found that it works waaay better in a pipe rather than a piece of paper.
