Van's second try in the season

Hi all.
I had a disaster of a grow season.
Hailstones, wind and n ending in rain up until now.
That being said the leaf I could salvage had holes eaten in while colour curing.
(Loogs like a termite with small black head......it poops as big as its body as it eats and mostly die but the damage is done)
Now that I finished feeling sorry for myself, I started an indoor grow.
I missed some photo ops but here go's nothing.

This is a couple of weeks in.

The tobacco is as follows :Long Red, Broadleaf, criollo Havana hybrid and if im lucky Little duch.
(My daughter of 8 helped to transplant so now its a winderfull pic a mix. There are never a dull moment)

Van, the termites you`re talking about could be tobacco snails, they carry their poop on their backs, or so it looks like! good luck.

Sounds about right.
Nasty buggers. They seem to die after eating their fill. But still between them and the white flies im trying an indoor grow on the porch.

Thank you I googled them and it is this buggers.
The beetle is a bit blacker with yellow.
Thanks for the info, I feel better now that I know my enemy.

I have to confess...Well ive been finding great satisfaction in pulling the heads off the adult bugs......
But then I will not mind A predator bug with long fangs that eat the slug beetles.....and white flies.
I have been hanging yellow sticky paper and so far so good. Grow no.2 seems beter than grow no.1.

My mistery seeds are starting to wake up.
These were supplied by inlaws and I have no information on them exept that Its grown here in South africa and its dark and fragrant.
That being said so is my past .
Hopefully I can convert it into a filler or binder. Otherwise it will go towards experimentation and my pipe.

These are the suckers from my first grow that was a disaster.
First time I harvested suckers but im desperately running low on homegrown.
The comercial tobacco does not taste good anymore after I started growing my own.(Thank you Ben Brand for getting the adiction started)

Maybe pile cure them more. Looks like they get crispy too fast.

Have you tried the cardboard box yellowing method? It's well worth the effort. You simply find a box that your leaves will fit into and put 1 layer of leaves, 1 layer of newspaper. Check and turn daily. When the required color is attained hang or kiln as required.

Maybe pile cure them more. Looks like they get crispy too fast.

Most turn a nice cacao brown within a day in the fermentation chamber.Thanks for the suggestion.
Im a bit pressed for time with work and the kids so pile cure and rotating every day is a bit of a no go, time is a bit short nowdays.

Thanks, yes it works well im just short of time these days.
Previous bach i saw if i skip a day they start to mold. 2/3 colour nice and brown in the ferment though.

Thank you I believe the canabalism is working.....im feeding them a liquid fertiliser made from leafy greens that a local nursery sells.
