Have to ask, which of the WLT cigar leafs might make an interesting cigarette blender? I would be looking for the easiest to inhale, and preferably one that has the least fermented/barnyard taste. Plain tobacco flavor with lots of smoke, a substitute for burley perhaps, not trying to make a filtered cigar. Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

I tried mixing shredded cigar leaf scrap with some flue cured but I didn't like the way it tasted at all. But if you want a hint of cigar flavor in your cigarette blend, I would recommend Don's Dark Air Cured. It goes down smoother than Burley and packs a punch.

A pinch of Dominican Seco is giving a noble taste to cigarette blends.

I've started using some Dark Air in my cigarette blends. Just a little bit adds a nice flavor. The Dominican Seco is fairly mild, like Istanbulin said, I can see a bit adding a nice flavor. I highly recommend buying a $5.00 Missouri Meerschaum corn cob pipe. I sample all my leaf singly and can get an idea what the flavor might add to a blend. There are several varieties I like to smoke by themselves in a pipe also. Samsun-Maden, Bursa, Silver River, Burley, etc. I just tear a hunk out of a leaf, wad it up and stuff it in the pipe. Good stuff.

There used to be some Indonesian cigar tobacco (correct me if I'm wrong) at the WLT store which I really liked blended with the flue cured. I've tried the Dominican and Nicaraguan in cig blends but it's a little overpowering. I'd try some shade leaf in a blend, something mild.

I could send you some CT shade scrap. If it's too small for wrapper I don't use it. If you want a little PM me your address and I'll send you a sample.

I think a clay pipe is better than a corn cob pipe for tasting tobaccos. It never adds different tastes to the smoke.

No. This is shade grown CT shade. It is exclusively used as a wrapper in the industry and that's how I use mine. There are always scraps not fit for wrapper and I have some around if you would like to try it for something. I sent a little to BarG and he seemed to like it. I have tried it as a puro and didn't like it.
