On occasion, when I can not seem to find the country/region of origin in the description, I find myself searching these forums for answers. After much searching, I've decided to ask here to see who may know.

My main question is where the current batch of Criollo 98 filler on WLT comes from. I have a feeling it is from Nicaragua, since the Criollo 98 wrappers are from Nica.

My other question is where the Sumatra binder is from. I was thinking possibly Ecuador, although that seems to be a focal point when it's the case, so my guess is Indonesia.

Thanks in advance.

Sumatra is hardly grown in Sumatra itself anymore. Although it is produced in small quantities on Java, this is declining as well. My best guess for the Sumatra therefore would be Ecuador. The tobacco from Cameroon is also originally the Sumatra seed. But I'll still stick to Ecuador.

Regarding the Criollo 98, besides Cuba, it's grown for commercial purposes predominantly in Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.

Anyway, your best guess at the correct answer is Don, not me.
