DIY Guillotine

Hi All,

Built this guillotine the other day any suggestions to improve it? Or better ideas?

Before I make suggestions, does it work well so far?

(if you haven't tested it yet, try with computer paper first. If it cuts clean, try a little tobacco)

That is a clever idea, to use a quality blade that already has a hole drilled for the bolt. Watch your fingers.

Cuts like a dream except that I have to control the blade manually, think I need some sort of guide to keep the cutting surface flush, haven't tried paper but cuts my tobacco fine

Was lucky, replaced my "Big" knives with a opinel set a year or two ago and my wife reminded me that I stashed them for one of my ideas(cant remember what the original idea was) maby I need one of those steel mesh gloves they use at the chicken slaughter house
