I frequently want to do something within this forum and have no idea how. Is there someplace where I can look up instructions?

This time specifically -- How do I add a comment when I recommend a post for special consideration?

Thanks, -- John

The program has two separate "post acknowledgement" features.

One is adding to member reputation. To add to a member's reputation, click on the badge or six pointed star under the member's name. This will allow you to send a comment to the member letting them know you added to their reputation and why. It is not mandatory you enter a comment to add to a member's reputation.

The other way to add to a member's reputation is to click on "Nominate this post for special consideration". This option should be selected after you are to add to a member's reputation and does not provide the option to add a comment as to why you nominated the post.

If you click on "Nominate this post for special consideration" before clicking on the badge, the program will not allow you to add to the member's reputation or make a comment.

Step by step....

1. click on the badge under the member's name
2. add comment
3. click on nominate post (if you think the post is worthy of special consideration)

Eventually, all of the nominated posts will be stuck at the top of their respective forums.

As for instructions on how to use the forum features...I don't know of any, so just ask.

The program is like any other computer program in that only about 10% of its potential is ever used.

You should see "More" along the top menu bar, just below the search "cigarette."

Bob

It's not there. The next things under the search bar are the forum, what's new, activity, tobacco growing FAQ, nominated posts and my nickname buttons.

You can find answers to questions about how the board works by clicking on THIS link.

That link is the only way I can get to that page. If I start at the Forum home page, there is no FAQ button to take me to that page. When I click your link and look at the top left that shows the path to the page it says Fair Trade Tobacco Forum--FAQ--Board FAQ.
However that path cannot be followed from Fair Trade Tobacco Forum page because FAQ button is not there.

Scratch most of that. I changed my zoom level and the other two buttons are now visible and FAQ link is under More. However, I still have edit problems.

Browser zoom? Never thought of that. It's interesting that the cig search box and the upper menu bar float, regardless of the browser zoom, but the secondary menu bar does not.

Yes, the log out button, which is even with the cig search box was still visible, but the view active topics and more buttons, offset slightly inboard of the search box, had disappeared.

Is there a way to enlarge the text here without losing buttons? I really thought Don was effing with me again. I was already planning my next possum assault.
