So...I'm smoking my first cigar tonight! I have not rolled any more yet...but I wanted to see if I even liked this first one. Look back a couple of posts and you'll see just how bad I did, in regards to not being tightly rolled, etc. But, I'm happy with it! It smokes ok, too loose and it needs relighting here and there (again, due to being loose and probably too moist)...but it smells GREAT and tastes even better! I love it...I love this...hobby!

Congrats quo155!!

You'll find that the more you roll, the better you get... (Ithink I was told that by someone here)! It is very true however. This first cigar of yours looks good, a little ashy but hey..its yours that you rolled. I'm sure its better than any store bought, ain't it???

Good job...

"I'm with you on the commercial sticks...I can't pull myself to buy any right now myself! "
Me either. I want to try a San Cristabol so bad but can't bring myself to pay that much for one.

Re: Rolling Habanos

All look like good sticks to this country boy.
In get a kick out of the ovals...35 years ago I was in canada and smoked "english oval" cigs, loved them.

So...I rolled some cigars tonight, a small "batch". These would make cigar #2, 3...

I tried something different. I tried paper and tried to make the cigars tighter this time...I tried...but if you look at the photos below, you'll see that I got worse with each one (#1 at top, on down to #4)! Maybe I'm too tired...

I had a little fun (I easily get frustrated if things don't go right...yea, I know...I'm hard to live with!)...anyway, I had fun...rolled 'em and they are now resting in my wineador. I have lots to learn...but again, it just adds to the fun.

Blend:
FILLER: Nicaragua Habano Ligero & Criollo 98 Seco
BINDER: Aleman Seco Banda (2006)
WRAPPER: Equador Shade Wrapper

Hopefully you didn't overdo the Liguero. That second from the top is almost perfect! Not only that, they're all shaping up nicely. Keep up the good work!!!

Some of them I'll leave un-capped, unless I'm handing one to a buddy.

Did you use a cigar mold/press ?

Not yet, I can't locate my mold in my shop...so I just rolled by hand and rolled up in a sheet of paper for a few minutes.

One of my latest sticks. Wrapper- Pen Red; Binder- Fl Sumatra; Ligero- Con B Leaf; Viso- Com Spanish; Seco- Black S Mammoth; Volado- Pen B Leaf.

That...cigar...looks awesome!

I agree, the second one looks the best. Thank you!

I have not even tried to attempt a cap or anything at this time...still trying to get the roll down.

I'm being stubborn and only rolling off memory from watching a few videos. I have not investigated all of the suggested methods...yet!

Very nicely done!

What is your opinion of the Sumatra?

I still use a paper towel. You're doing fine! Keep up the good work! I believe you also received some Aleman Seco Banda. Try that one too! It gets nice and stretchy when wet! It'll give you a nice finished look!

Re: Rolling Habanos

Brown thumb... i really like the Popsicle stick humidor. Nice job. Some of those look like they've been half smoked already.
Thats Funny, Yes some are half smoked, It is like a grab bag cigar selection. I like a small cigar to chill or a few hits off the pipe at night after a hard day of doing nothing.
