OTOH, the cap is optional - for my straight cylinder (PVC mold) cigars, I just omit it.
Show them what a PVC mold looks like, it'll save some of the guys here a lot of money....more to spend on leaf, lol.

Take a look at the post on triple caps I posted today. You may find it helpful. A cigar mold would really help shape the round end for you.
I have a couple of these 7 x 52 and really like them.

Behold...
I made PVC mold by cutting lengths of 3/4" ID PVC pipe, then cutting them in half lengthwise. I then clamp them together with small hose clamps.
1) mold open, with hose clamps

2) mold closed and clamped, with nut driver

I'm pretty sure the bend in the nut driver is the result of my beloved son using it for a pry bar
The result is a 48 RG stick with square-cut ends. I use 3 lengths: 5" (robusto), 6.25" (toro), and 7" (churchill).
That's a great idea!! If you find a dowel rod that fits inside the pipe fairly snugly, you can cut a short length, set up a jig to plunge route a half sphere in the end of it and then cut in half and glue the pieces to the pvc to have a rounded end for the head of the cigar. I'm going to have to try that.
What did you split the pipe with, table saw, band saw, hand saw?
Bruck, glad you posted the PVC molds, and the New Molds. How did you cut the PVC long ways???

Edit to add: they are all fairly short and small as I didn't top, or de-sucker that crop and I didn't have any large leaves, let alone large wrappers that would have let me go bigger - an aspiration for when this year's harvest is good to go (I got a heater and fan with pre-wired thermostat out of an old food dehydrator, so combined with my fridge shell, that may be less than two years!)
