Y'all are making me a bit jealous with your tasty sticks.

Macanudo Ecuadorian Shade. Probably the absolute mildest cigar I've ever smoked, to the point of being nigh flavorless. The aftertaste of the coffee I had with it overpowered the cigar and I had to get to drink water instead, and only then did I get a little flavor peaking around the edges.

Blackie and Jubah brothers. Here, a few months ago, taking advantage of the mess, they began their exploration.

One is surprised and the other got a ''macho'' expression.

Lately I have been seeing these Penn Standard sticks pop-up. According to some research Connecticut and Pennsylvania Broadleaf is their main gig somehow connected to Dunn and Foster farms. From what I gather D&F is the dominant supplier of CB to the "top shelf" cigar brands. Anyway, pretty reasonably priced for American tobacco and what can I say, I appreciate the artistry that goes into rolling a patriotic stick like this. While smoking I was pretty surprised for a Salomon it had no touch ups and the burn was consistent. Body wise I believe em stating the tobacco is aged 8 years, never did go past medium or devolve into a bitter mess which is an outlier with Broadleaf sticks. With about a quarter left the wrapper started to crack so I put it down. Was a good enough experience to sample some more from this brand. 20260718_221151.jpg20260718_221155.jpg20260718_223616.jpg

Enjoyed a nice la aurora maduro robusto last night. A bit of a cooler night about 20°c. I find dominicans are usually medium strength smokes. This one was exactly that, until after half way where it became medium -full. Lovely cigar.
