That organic matter in a hole Idea is awesome. I could see that working in a trench type row too.
I give back what nature/soil has given me , what can be more natural than that ?
When this summer of 2014 is over every plant will start to rot , even the tobacco will do so.
The difference is that all them nutrients will take its way to the sky while mine woun't.
When N takes to the sky you have something called The GreenhouseEffect , that is what will happen if I build a compostbox , so I'll never do that.
Using this here method of soilization most of the nutrients will stay put in the ground.
The holes I drilled and filled with organic matter last year , I can now enjoy the fruits of that work.
I drilled one hole 100 times and filled it with organic matter and now I have 5 grandkids.
I totally agree that good things take time.
Your baccy will do well for generations to come.
Pic from last year using nettles in the water barrels , using a bike+cart for transportation. You can if you want.See what you you mean BarG and I'm glad you've got some fine results with your organic matter + I guess u had great fun doing it too even though you drilled the same hole a 100 times......
I've been drilling 100 domestic/foreign different holes but I have no kids or grandkids
Much obliged , and I think this is the way to go , think I can skip the Calcium Nitrate and just go with the organic matter x the holes and urea ( indirect cost perhaps) in the future. No cost and still great results.
