Rancho Santa Margarita. Stupid name I know. We call it Rancho Have-a Margarita.
My mother's name was Marguerite. My dad's pet name for her sounded like Reet. I was 6 or 7 years old before I realized "yesreet" wasn't a word. -- -- John
(On the few occasions he said "noreet" she went ballistic. He never lost his cool. Just another day at the ranch.) -- J

I just go mine in the mail today.

This thing is Awesome. Man, thanks. You saved me so much time.

I'll post more on it later. But, I just shredded a bit up in a hurry and got a couple packs in a half hour. That's the first time using it so I'm sure it will be much faster. That took me hours with scissors. And I wouldn't have been able to get near this good of a shred.

Oh, I put some flue cured that was in too high of case and it went through with out a problem. A little slower than the burley, but I'm pretty sure this thing can handle pretty much anything.

Oh, and I had no idea it was this big. I was expecting a little finicky gadget. I've never seen a pasta maker before.

Now I don't have to be so lazy with my blends.

I looked all over Wal Mart twice and found nothing. I guess we're not pasta makers here.

at one time i was looking into getting one, and couldnt find none no-where, in the stores i was looking at,

but from what ive read they are not put toghter very well.

i'd suggest just saving your money and getting a powermatic shredder, especially if your plans are to grow your own bacca for years to come,

I agree with Chicken, I have tried all of them, the weak link is the gears, If you drill and tap the shaft and use a washer to hold the gears on it works a lot better. SLOW compared to a Powermatic. Ok if you are not doing more than a couple of pounds.

I have a Powermatic on the way but it was kind of tight getting it squeezed in this time of year. Holidays and stuff. I'm sure a pasta maker has to beat hand shredding hands down until funds loosen up enough to go the Powermatic route. Good thread Michibachy. That looks like a good investment till the savings get built up.
