any correction on my step is appreciate
My english is not that good
Here is what I have for gigarette
a rolling machine wich I tested and worked very nicely
a budget 8mm shredder ( not sure this is made for cig)

a whole 5pounds of mix that looks very dry of flue cure lemon/bright virginia
sealed 4 x 1 pound pack of lemon, bright, red

First i think i don t have the good shredder to do the job the unless i pass twice it trhough
the 5 pounds looks very dry

Intent step (I have red at least 100 pages of the forum, i also know that humidity is not related humidity)

buy a 12 pack of beer
buy a few ... tupper ware
shredded the bulk 5 pounds only once since this already is shredded
store till about 12% humidity ( with a separate humidity sponge untill it reaches about 12%) then roll it

the seal packs
the red does not look as fresh as the other ones

shredded those one without the sterm ( keep the sterm for further uses)
Separate them for future mix test, until they have the right humidity

Did I miss something ?

Is the leaf turning to dust as you shred it?

If the leaf is too dry it will turn to powder when you shred. If it is too moist it will gum up the blades on the cutters and is hard to clean out and can jam the machine and the handle won't turn.

You can mist the leaf with a spray bottle of water a little bit and seal it in the bag until it become a little more moist. Sometimes it can get too moist and you have to air it out until it feels right.

An alternative to a shredder is a flake maker. The tobacco needs to be dry. I used to have trouble maintaining proper moisture for shredding, always too wet or too dry. I'm too impatient. Now I keep it dry and make flakes.

with tubes
and must be right about the 5 pound package, it may turn to dusts
5 poudns is a big package
i will think about it and find a way to seperate and humidify it
for sur you are right

Put some of the leaf from the five pounds into a smaller bag to humidify a little bit at a time with a spray bottle. 2) If your humidity is higher at night, open the top of the big bag and leave it outside. It will take on the humidity from the night time air. 3) If you store any of the bags with high humidity the leaf can mold.

We use the term "case" to describe how dry or moist is the tobacco leaf. This post describes what each feels like:

Store in low case. "Out of case" is when the leaf is crispy, crumbly, turn to dust dry. That is too dry to shred or roll.

and for sur i will not spray , afraid of molding
i prefer to be patient
I spray a fine mist on the inside of the bag, not directly on the leaf.

I seal up the tobacco with the water mist on the inside of the bag with plenty of air. The air takes up the moisture from the water and the tobacco absorbs the moisture from the air. This is a 2-1/2 gal. freezer bag and I work out of this bag for making cigarettes. The bulk of my tobacco is in storage. It is much easier to work with smaller amounts at a time, like a pound or less.

edit: I start with about a pound of flake in the bag and work out of this bag. As you can see I will need to flake more soon.

I think a member in the past put an open bag of leaf in a steamy shower to hydrate. Whatever works for your conditions. Are you in a dry climate? My humidity swings back and forth depending on rain or dry but humidity stays low upstairs inside the house due to heat and/or air conditioner but the humidity can reach high humidity in the basement. I have to use dehumidfiers in the basement.

for the rest Am I ok ?
For immediate use or for storage? I store my whole leaf in the bags in cardboard boxes to reduce damage. I only shred about a pound at a time and I keep the shred in a state ready to make cigarettes (proper moisture). The whole leaf in storage, I just make sure it stays dry enough to not mold.
