I love those super-long forceps. And the weather station looks nice. I would love to hear about it.

Bob

Thanks Bob. The forceps are from an aquarium supply store. Look in the planted aquarium supply section - they have all sizes and shapes. Quite handy, I use them all the time for many tasks.

The weather station was the wife's birthday present last year. It does everything except mow the lawn. It even pushes your data up to the cloud so you can access it from your phone or computer. It's supposed to be mounted on a pole, but I haven't gotten around to that yet since the move to the new house, and that was a convenient place to park it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N5TEHLI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Yes, the wife was just out of frame on the right doing battle with a vicious bitter orange tree. It’s all thorns. You know it’s tough when it survived last month’s snowpocalype unscathed!

Looks pretty mean to me. More like our lemon trees, they can stab you if you're not carefull.

That's pretty wild. Back in 2012, when I grew 43 different tobacco varieties, I considered putting actual flags in the garden beds, just for grins. It would have made wonderful photos. But the cost of even cheap little flags would alone have cost more than the entire cost of the planting without flags.

I just noticed that there is one poor seedling without a country. And what's with the Prilep growing tomatoes?

Bob

I dropped one of the labels on the way to the garden, but it has since been recovered.

The "Tomatoes" are Texas Mountain Laurel seeds that I used as a key before I added the labels.

Whew! It's been a super busy week, and I need another weekend to recover from my weekend.

To start the week out, we began the final phase of remediating the attic that had been infested with rats when we bought the house (surprise!). Phase one was plugging all the rat holes and trapping any rats stuck in the attic. We trapped 6 rats and I shot 10. After two weeks of no activity we moved on to clean up and sterilization / insulation. The previous owners obviously had a rat problem for a while that they ignored. The insulation was packed down (drastically reducing the R Value) and full of rat poo and rat pee. So they sucked out all the old insulation, sterilized the attic, and blew in fresh lovely fluffy clean insulation to keep us cool this summer. This was a noisy and two day job. But so worth it. In the pic below, the large tube is the suction hose and the smaller tube is for blowing in the new insulation. The pipes were routed right in front of my study, and as I worked last week I could hear all the rat turds rattling through the tube as they were sucked out. Ewww!

This weekend we concentrated on the yard / garden. I installed an anti-dog perimeter and purchased some seedlings and seeds to get the garden started. Planted veggies, flowers, and herbs. We also divided up the spaces for me (tobacco) and her (everything else). I have two pallets of sod coming this Friday to cover up all the bare dirt, which means I have four days to fix the leak in my wheelbarrow tire.

I worked on extending my walking path through the back yard.

I cleared some half dead shrubs out of this area so I can put up a garden shed (contingent to HOA approval).

Finally, I worked on my Reef Aquarium a little bit. I lost all my corals and fish during the Snow-pocalypse, so I'm starting over from scratch. This weekend I added some fish and a few starter corals. Here you can see my clown fish and corals under the "moon light".

Madfamer asked about your labels in post 73. I'm interested as well, they look great I'm feeling exhausted just looking at the amount of work that you have done:sleep: good luck with your grow.
